Preview Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers

The Phoenix Suns will travel to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers on Monday, March 10th, at Staples Center, and here at Allpro we have the odds and betting lines for you. This showdown in the NBA’s Pacific Division showcases two of the best teams in the Western Conference this season. The exciting action continues a season that has witnessed a ton of great NBA games.

Los Angeles Clippers

Most NBA followers suspected that the Clippers would be a great team this season. Blake Griffin has taken his game to another level this season. He looks better in all aspects of the game, starting with his defense. Griffin has also improved his offensive game, and now he threatens other teams with more than just his dunking ability. Chris Paul remains one of the elite point guards in all of basketball. He combines tremendous passing ability with incredible scoring instincts. He also boasts top-notch defensive ability, and other players and fans regularly call him one of the best defenders at the point guard position. When Paul and Griffin are working well together, the Clippers usually win games. DeAndre Jordan joins Blake Griffin in the front court to provide an imposing physical presence. The Suns will need to start by keeping Jordan and Griffin off the offensive boards if they want to have a good chance to win. They will also need to clog the passing lanes as much as possible to slow down Chris Paul.

Phoenix Suns

Last season the Phoenix Suns had the worst record in the Western Conference. To say that they are a surprise this year would be an understatement. Most NBA observers expected them to be a terrible team again this year, but they are playing some good basketball in 2014. Goran Dragic is one of the breakout players this season in the NBA. The star guard has taken the league by storm. He is the leading scorer of the Phoenix Suns, and he is also the best passer they have. He will need to play at his best to give the Suns their best chance to defeat the mighty Clippers. Miles Plumlee gives the Suns a decent force in the low post to defend Griffin and Jordan. He is the leading rebound man of the Suns, and they will need him to come up big. The Suns must play good team basketball with some outstanding efforts from their bench to win this game. They have to hit the open three-point shots they get, and they must rebound with intensity.

Key Battles

Chris Paul vs. Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe is the better defensive guard on the Suns, and he will have to play great defense to slow down Chris Paul. Dragic must bring his best scoring abilities to the table to help the Suns keep pace with the high-flying Clippers. The combination of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is essentially the same as Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire a few years ago, and Suns fans know how good that combination was.

Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan vs. Miles Plumlee and the bench of the Suns. The bench players for Phoenix will have to come ready to play in this game. They will need to use all their fouls to keep Griffin from getting easy scoring chances. They also have to keep Griffin and Jordan off the boards when it comes to rebounding. Plumlee will be the main line of defense for the Suns in this battle. He must secure some rebounds and find a way to help ease the scoring load off the shoulders of Dragic. This should be an excellent game with a lot of memorable moments.
